Food shortage as the lands become barren and the oceans become fishless. Loss of biodiversity as whole species of living things disappear due to deforestation. Pollution will eventually become unmanageable and affect our health. Rising temperatures may be too much for all living things on the planet.

Habitat destruction (also termed habitat loss and habitat reduction) is the process by which a natural habitat becomes incapable of supporting its native species. The organisms that previously inhabited the site are displaced or dead, thereby reducing biodiversity and species abundance.[1][2] Habitat destruction is the leading cause of biodiversity loss.

Explanation:

Yes,I agree because forests are important for the environment as well is human life.

Half of the earth's oxygen is generated by forests. Thus cutting down forests will cause gradual depletion of oxygen.

Forests support wildlife and are the shelter for these animals. Destroying them will cause death and extinction of these wildlife animals.

The trees absorbs the carbon dioxide generated by industries, transportation and other human activities. Most of the pollution control is brought about by forests.

Forests control floods.

They also help in regulating regional climate.

Thus destroying forests is indirectly destroying the environment.
