Solution:
  • n ! = Product of all the natural numbers from 1 to n  
  • n = 1 .2 . 3 . ... (n - 1) . n
  • n ! = n ( n - 1) !

Step 1:

10! can be re written as

10 × 9 × 8 × 7 !

Step 2:

Calculate 3!

3 × 2 × 1 = 6

Step 3:

Substitute 10! = 10 × 9 × 8 × 7 !   and  3! = 6  in    [tex]\dfrac{10!}{3!7!} [/tex]

[tex]\dfrac{10\times 9\times 8 \times 7!}{6\times 7!} [/tex]

Cancel 7! from Numerator and denominator

[tex]\dfrac{10\times 9\times 8 \time }{6 } [/tex]

[tex]\dfrac{10\times 72 }{6 } [/tex]

= 10 x 12

= 120

Hence, 10! / (3! 7!​) = 120
