Science and technology help us to understand the mechanism of natural hazards of atmos- pherical, geological, hydrological, and biological origins and to analyze the transformation of these hazards into disasters.

Currently, Japan is using satellites to analyze images of the earth to predict natural disasters. AI-based systems look for changes in the images to predict the risk of disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis.

Tornadoes and floods can be forecasted.

  2. A few natural calamities are earthquakes, floods, landslides, volcanoes, cyclones.

  5. According to the patterns in past data, we can predict when and where it is going to occur.
  6. Floods can be predicted too depending on the water level of rivers.
  7. Other natural calamities such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions cant be predicted.
