Difference Between Effusion and Diffusion are

Effusion in simple terms is the ability of gas to travel through a small opening. A common example of effusion is the loss of gas inside of a balloon over time.

Diffusion is the ability of gases to mix with each other usually in the absence of a barrier.diffusion example a tea bag immersed in a cup of hot water will diffuse into the water and change its colour.

Difference between Diffusion and effusion is given below:- (1) Diffusion involves the ability of gases to mix together without requiring bulk motion while effusion involves the ability of a gas to escape through a small hole with a small aperture . For ex- we have a beaker which is filled with water. When it is allowed to heat, water vapours in gaseous form get mixed with atmospheric air while if there would be any hole in beaker then the phenomenon of effusion takes place. (2) Thermal motion results into mixing of one gas with another gas resulting in the collision between each other while releasing molecular energy in case of diffusion while gas molecules escape through a pinhole into a vaccum in case of effusion. For ex:-We are taking a simple example of human body inside which exchange of nutrients, energy, and oxygen happen within our body as a result of diffusion.As for effusion it can be seen by making pinhole in beaker. (3) The phenomenon of diffusion occurs due to difference in concentrations while the phenomenon of effusion occurs due to pressure difference. For example :- As we already discussed the example of water in beaker, there is concentration difference of water in beaker and atmosphere so when heated the diffusion of water takes place. There will be pressure difference between atmosphere and liquid which leads to effusion by pinhole. (4) Effusion occurs when the size or aperture of the hole is smaller than the mean free path of molecules while diffusion happens when there are no holes or if holes in the barrier are larger than the mean free path.

The Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 is an Act of the Parliament of India enacted for protection of plants and animal species. Before 1972, India had only five designated national parks. Among other reforms, the Act established scheduled protected plant and hunting certain animal species or harvesting these species was largely outlawed.[1] The Act provides for the protection of wild animals, birds and plants; and for matters connected therewith or ancillary or incidental thereto. It extends to the whole of India.

It has six schedules which give varying degrees of protection. Schedule I and part II of Schedule II provide absolute protection - offences under these are prescribed the highest penalties. Species listed in Schedule III and Schedule IV are also protected, but the penalties are much lower. Animals under Schedule V, e.g. common crows, fruit bats, rats and mice, are legally considered vermin and may be hunted freely.[2] The specified endemic plants in Schedule VI are prohibited from cultivation and planting. The hunting to the Enforcement authorities have the power to compound offences under this Schedule (i.e. they impose fines on the offenders).
