Norway renewable resources
Norway is a large producer of renewable energy. Because of hydropower, over 99% of the electricity production is from 31GW hydropower plants. These energies are then utilized by people in rivers and waterfalls. Since then, the Norwegian hydropower has become an increasingly important part of the society.
It helps in producing:-
Hydropower 129 TWh
Wind power 19 TWh
Thermal power 33 TWh
The dominant role of hydropower in the electricity production makes inflow to the dams and reservoirs. At the same time, having flexibility in the power production makes it possible to both exports and imports power to or from our neighbouring countries through interconnectors, depending on the demand.
Though wind energy is contributing a bit less but the number of wind turbines are increasing yearly.
