There are many measures that have been taken by India to reduce poverty. They have used a multi-pronged approach to tackle the menace of poverty. Some of the important measures taken to reduce poverty in India are listed below:
1.Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana – This scheme was launched in 2015 by the Ministry of Finance.
2.Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) – This scheme was launched in 2016 under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
3.Prime Minister Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi – PM SVanidhi – This scheme was launched in 2020 by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)
4.Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan (PM-SYM) – This scheme was launched in 2019 by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
5.Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) – This scheme was launched in 2016 under the Ministry of Finance.
