In a physical change the appearance or form of the matter changes but the kind of matter in the substance does not. However in a chemical change, the kind of matter changes and at least one new substance with new properties is formed.

i) chemical change – a process in which chemical bonds are broken or created to make a new substance physical change – a process in which a substance changes its state of matter, but chemical bonds stay intact.

ii) Physical change brings a change in appearance whereas a chemical change brings a change in appearance and chemical bonds.

iii) n a physical change, the material involved in the change is structurally the same before and after the change. Types of some physical changes are texture, shape, temperature, and a change in the state of matter. A change in the texture of a substance is a change in the way it feels.
