India had a long, pernicious history of economic drain, poverty, famines, illiteracy, social prejudice, inequalities, lack of modern technological development etc during the British rule. The Nationalist Movement spear headed by the INC which was found in 1885 promised the country to get her out of this pathetic condition, initially within the British dominion and later as a sovereign state. The British Executive Council which had many residual powers in the administration of India was unfortunately not responsible to the elected heads, the provincial legislators.
So in 1934, M.N Roy, proposed that India should have its own constitution which must be made without the interference from any external country, which should be followed in the administration of the country.
The Objective resolutions so passed in the Constituent Assembly by Jawaharlal Nehru also exhibits the moral commitment of the constituent Assembly to make a constituent which would fulfil the various promises the nationalist movement had held up before the people.
