difference between linear velocity and angular velocity

Answers 2

Angular velocity is defined as the rate of change of the angular position of a rotating body. Linear velocity is defined as the rate of change of displacement with respect to time when the object moves along a straight path.

In linear velocity,

=> the motion occurs in a linear, straight line(not necessarily axially)

=> the direction of motion is in one direction.

In angular velocity,

=> the motion occurs in a circular path

=> the direction of motion keeps changing w.r.t. time.
