Calculate the kinetic energy of a body of mass 2kg moving with a speed of 72km/hour

Kinetic Energy of the body =  1/2*m[tex]v^{2}[/tex] = [tex]1/2*2*20=20J[/tex]

  • Here m= mass of the given body
  • v= velocity of the given body
  • v= 72Km/H = 20 m/s
  • m= 2Kg

  1. Total energy is the sum up of two energies- Kinetic energy and Potential Energy.
  2. Kinetic Energy is created when a system is in motion. When a system is at rest it has no Kinetic Energy because the velocity is zero.
  3. We can calculate Kinetic Energy of any movable species like bus, train, cricket ball, stone etc
  4. When kinetic energy is maximum of a substance its potential energy is minimum and when kinetic energy is minimum then its potential energy is maximum.
  5. The Kinetic Energy depends on two factors namely the mass and the speed of the object. If mass increases the energy also increases and by increasing the velocity of the substance the energy is also increased.
