To find: zeroes of polynomial p(x)=x^2-x-6

solution:

given:

p(x)=x^2-x-6

     factors of 6 = 3, 2

p(x) = x^2-x-6

       = x^2 -(3-2)x-6

       = x^2-3x+2x-6

       = x(x-3)+2(x-3)

       = (x-3)(x+2)

for zeroes of polynomial, put p(x) = 0

hence, x = 3, -2

Answer = Zeroes of polynomial x^2-x-6 are 3, -2.
