Liquid is a state of matter .it’s inter-particle or intermolecular force of attraction is weak in liquids as compare to solids .the inter-particle space between the particles in liquid is more than that in solid due to which the particles in liquid can change their positions by sliding over each other .- liquid have definite volume but no definite shape it takes up the space of the container it is stored in -liquid can flow .liquid can be poured or spilled which does not occur solid . -the intermolecular force of attraction in liquids are weaker then solid . the molecules in liquid are loosely packed and the intermolecular space between the molecules is more as compare to solids it will give the molecules move freely in -liquid cannot be compressed there is no effect of force of compression on the volume of liquid . Hence the liquid is incompressible-liquids have lower density due to the presence of more intermolecular space between the molecules of liquid deposits lower density than solid for example water milk juice kerosene and petrol fun fact solids and liquids requires a great deal of pressure to accomplish A little compression hence these are good too as incompressible
