so it's radius is 5cm

area of the original circle

=πr²

= (22/7)*5*5

=78.5cm²

if the diameter was increased 20% or 2cm

then radius of new circle

=12/2 = 6cm

area of new circle is

=πr²

=(22/7)*6*6

=113.1cm²

the percent increase is

(113.1/78.5)*100

(1131/785)*100

which is approx 44%

Hence the area increase percentage is 44%
