Savitribai phule was born in 3rd January 1831. She was the foremost lady to take education in India. Savitribai was the initiator for the women education. She was supported in her Aim by her husband Mahatma jyotirao Phule an Indian social activist, thinker, anti-caste social reformer and writer from Maharashtra. In pre independence period the women were known for only carrying households and men were only given right to learn and develop. Savitribai strictly opposed this male dominated system and fought for the education as well as different rights of women. she started teaching by tolerating social harrassment and developed a different perspective for women. hats off to her work
