Answer:
The right to health is the first fundamental right of the people in any country. Healthy citizens are the building elements of a healthy and developed country. We have been of the belief for centuries that 'the first happiness is a physical body, the second happiness is in the house, Maya' and 'life is life.' Undoubtedly, good health is the biggest treasure. Any inattention to health can lead anyone closer to death. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid everything that damages our health or makes us a victim of diseases. In order to attract the attention of a large number of people towards the importance of health, 'World Health Day' is celebrated on 7th April every year under the leadership of the World Health Organization. It is worth mentioning that World Health Assembly was organized by the World Health Organization in Geneva for the first time in 1948 and World Health Day was celebrated for the first time in the whole world in 1950.
India lags behind many of its neighboring countries including Bangladesh, China, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka in healthcare. This has been revealed by research agency 'Lancet' in its study titled 'Global Burden of Disease'. According to this, India ranks 145th in the list of 195 countries in terms of health care, quality, and access. Ironically, even after seven decades of independence, health services in our country have not been improved. God is the owner of government hospitals! In such situations, the opening of private hospitals is like everywhere. The purpose of these hospitals is not to serve the people but to earn nuts under the guise of service. It is so expensive to get treatment in these hospitals that have become robbery bases, that even after mortgaging their house, land, and farm, they have to take the trouble of taking loans from the bank. Actually, the constitution of our country gives all citizens the right to protect life, but the ground reality is quite the opposite. There is such a poor state of healthcare in our country that due to lack of doctors and lack of good facilities in government hospitals, patients have to resort to private hospitals as the last option. Important services like health in the country are running without any vision and policy. In such circumstances, getting treatment for the poor is becoming out of reach.
