Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or as it is also known as Clean India Mission started in two thousand fourteen by honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. The objective of this mission is to raise awareness among the public regarding garbage disposal, solid waste management and open defecation. The mission is aimed at raising awareness on matter of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene.

Efforts are being taken in the direction of solid waste management by sending safaai mitras or sanitary workers with vans to collect household garbage door to door. Wet waste are biodegradable waste, it includes cooked and uncooked food material, fruits, flowers and green leaves. Dry waste are non biodegradable waste it includes glass, leather, metal, plastic and rubber wire. Wet waste or biodegradable waste is thrown into green dustbin while dry waste or non biodegradable waste is thrown into blue dustbin.

The first phase of the programme lasted till October two thousand Nineteen. While right now, second phase is going on. The second phase aims at raising awareness on open defecation system. Open defecation means excretion of waste such as unire, latrine out in open or near by sources of water. The actions taken on this regard are building public toilets in public spaces. It also tries to stop manual scavenging that is lifting waste from hands. It also raise awareness on giving respect to such people who do our work and thust bringing a change in sanitation practises and behaviour of people. Another step taken in this direction of giving respect to helpers are by calling them safaai mitras or sanitary workers. Change in term leads to change in our opinion and our behaviour and how we look at their work. Thus, these are the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and a positive change has happened in this direction.

Last Saturday, I had a chance to see a magic show. My father had got tickets for the evening show as a surprise for my birthday. I went with my parents and we took our seats. We waited eagerly for the show to begin. The curtains on the stage lifted and the magician entered. He introduced himself and the show began.

First of all he took four pieces of a rope, ran his hands over them, and when he opened them the rope was one again! He called a boy from the audience and asked for his watch. He covered it with a piece of cloth and broke it with a hammer. But when the boy put his hand in his pockets he found his watch there. We were all surprised.

The magician made his assistant fly in the air, cut him two with a sword, and then joined him again. He made things disappear in the air and brought them out of our pockets. He produced many rabbits and pigeons out of his hat. He made his table rise in the air and stay there for five minutes. He performed many more such surprising tricks.

We could all only watch in wonder. We didn’t realize how 2 hours had passed by. Everyone praised him and admired him. I wish I too could perform such tricks and entertain people with my skill. It would be nice to be a famous magician when I grow up.

She was disappeared by the magician. I feel so happy and surprised by the magician.

• After above magic he draw some pigeons from his magic coat, then some flowers then some fruits. It was a worth day for me.
