-She seemed to remember many such "odd" details about her guests. How tall they were, how perfectly young they were, how white their teeth were, etc.
3. Christopher Mulholland and Gregory W. Temple were possibly earlier guests of the Landlady. One of them were also reported as a "missing Eton school boy".
4. The parrot and the daschund, Basil, looked strangely lifeless. They did not seem to shift positions, no sound, and no breathing.
5. In the middle of the story, Billy briefly remarks that the tea smells like "bitter almonds". Bitter almonds are indeed the taste of potassium cyanide, a lethal poison which can kill a person in under 10 minutes.
