Forest Ecosystem:

  • In a forest ecosystem, trees occupy the top level, shrubs occupy the second and herbs and grasses occupy the bottom level.

Grassland Ecosystem:

  • Grassland Ecosystem is an area where the vegetation is dominated by grasses and other plants.
  • They occupy about 20% of the land on the earth's surface.

Aquatic ecosystem:

  • An aquatic ecosystem is an ecosystem in and surrounding a body of waterbody.  
  • They cover more than 70% of Earth's surface.
  • Examples of aquatic ecosystems include lakes, ponds, rivers, etc.
