Answer:
We have all heard about the story of the thirsty crow. The story has been told and re-told from a third- party perspective of the entire incident. Yet, if the crow was about his own perspective about the entire incident, this is what he may have to say. By looking at the crow’s perspective, we are able to derive a different understanding of the story. This happens with all of us most of the time. We are often caught up in our perspective of seeing things as they are and miss some information, which could be gained by looking at the same incident/situation from someone else’s perspective. This may open a totally new window to view the situation from a different angle before forming any judgment about it.
Here is what the crow would have to say about his story – “The Thirsty Crow”
On that day of June, I was flying for a long time in search of water. Nowhere on the land could I see even a drop of water. I had been searching for water for the past one hour and my throat was totally parched. Then something flashed in my eyes. This must be water reflecting the sun-rays. I scooped down and saw an earthen pitcher with some water in it. I was delighted by the sight and immediately put my long black beak to get the water to quench my thirst. But the water was in the base of the pitcher and my beak couldn’t reach it. I tried again and again but was not able to reach the water. I really got annoyed and out of anger I picked up a small pebble and threw it in the water. With the pebble hitting the water, some droplets flew out of the pitcher. There I got the idea of throwing pebbles into the pitcher to gets some droplets flying out, with which I could quench my thirst. I picked pebbles one by one and threw them into the pitcher and caught hold of tiny droplets flying out of the pitcher due to the impact. Such droplets were barely sufficient to quench my thirst, so I kept on dropping the pebbles till the time the pitcher was almost full of pebbles. Then I noticed that the water level in the pitcher has moved up as the pebbles settled down in the pitcher. I again tried reaching the water with my beak and to my surprise my beak was totally submerged in the water. I drank stomach full of water and relaxed in the shady branch of the nearby tree.
