Answer:
The difference in cultures and languages is what makes this world a bearable place to live in. It actually makes it beautiful somehow.
No two languages have the same expressions, proverbs, or phrasal verbs. Every language is unique on its own. It's what makes the learning of new languages so interesting, motivating, and refreshing.
I think the world would be a boring place if we all spoke the same language.
However, in terms of feelings and emotions, we all speak the same language within, which also makes the world beautiful. Imagine that you feel something and the other person from the other side of the world feels the same but both of you have a unique and different way of expressing your feelings. Isn't that beautiful?

0People all over the world should speak one language.
For the View
(i) Life would be less complicated and less expensive-it would be easy for the people to communicate with one other without the barrier of language; if all the people spoke the same language, they would not need dictionaries, interpreters and translators to overcome the language barrier and thus save a huge amount of money; (ii) It would be much easier to do business-the ability to communicate directly, without any interpreter, would enable people to enhance their businesses across the borders and earn more profit; (iii) Societies would be less divided and more integrated-if all the people in the world spoke one language, there would not be any discrimination and it would be easier to integrate all the people in achieving international goals rather than national and regional goals; (iv) There will be less censorship-a large number of people, who at present know only regional languages, would no longer be misinformed by being fed incorrect or inflammatory information; (v) It would widen the knowledge of people-if people all over the world spoke one language, they would be able to read books, journals, magazines, published in any part of the world and thereby enhance their knowledge; similarly, they would be able to easily access all the information available on different websites.
Against the View
(i) It would increase competition in the job markets-if there would be only one language, many more people would be available, rather than a few people knowing a particular language, for a job, and thus increase the competition; (ii) Certain industries would not exist-the presence of just one language worldwide would lead to the closure of certain industries such as language teaching, publishing of language-based textbooks, translation services, interpreter services, software development for translating one language to other languages; (iii) Smaller nations would find it difficult to maintain their national integrity-absence of any local language as the national language at any stage in the nation's history would make it difficult for a nation to maintain its sense of identity; (iv) Life would be less interesting-if everybody spoke the same language, there would not be any diversity and life would become dull and less interesting; (v) Local Languages will become obsolete-if people all over the world spoke only one language, they would not study the local languages and these local languages would soon become obsolete.
