1. Take a think strip of filter paper
2. Dras a line on it using a pencil, approximately 3cm above the lower edge
3. Put a small drop of ink (from sketch pen) at the centre of the line.
4.Let it dry

5. Lower the filter paper into a jar/glass containing waer o that the drop of ink on the paper is just above the water level .
6. Leave undisturbed
Then the water will rise on the filter paper. The water takes the dye particles along with it and it seperates the colours as shown in the figure
