Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
I hope that you are in good health and spirits. We all are fine here. Please don't worry about the heavy rains. Everybody is safe now and the Meteorological Department has intimated that the rains will stop in a day or two.
I wanted to tell you both about Sheena, my friend, who helped me in the rain. As I finished my school, it started raining heavily. We quickly sat in our school bus. Everything was fine till we reached Manik Chowk. There was heavy traffic in that area. Our bus was caught in the traffic. We waited for almost an hour, but our bus couldn't move. Luckily, Sheena's father had come to the grocery store to buy something. He saw our bus and came running to the conductor, who explained the whole situation to him. He saw me sitting right next to the window. He asked the conductor if he could take all of us to his house till the traffic cleared. The conductor disagreed as he was not allowed to send any child with anyone other than her parents or acquaintances. Then, Sheena's dad asked if he could take me to his house as he was one of my acquaintance. The conductor asked me if I wanted to go with him. I readily agreed. He took me to his house. Sheena's mother told me to freshen up. Sheena was already home as she is not a bus student. After freshening up, Sheena's mother gave me some hot snacks to eat. After eating, I asked her if I could call my parents as they would be worried about me. Her mother agreed. I called up my mother and explained her the situation. My mother was happy that I was safe. Sheena's mother told me that I could stay with them till the rain stopped. I asked my mother about staying with them till the rain ended. My mother agreed. I stayed with them till the evening. We studied and played many games. The rain had come to a stop. My parents came to Sheena's house to collect me. We all thanked them for their kindness. After two days, we went to Sheena's house with a surprise. My parents had bought a cute dress for Sheena, a lovely purse for her mother and a nice watch for his father. They were happy to see the gifts. We all enjoyed very much. We returned home with a smile.
This was the whole story. I know that you both will be very happy with Sheena and her family. Please come here soon so that we can go to her house together.
Yours lovingly,
Dania.
