Air occupies space

According to the definition, matter is something that occupies space and has mass. When a balloon is filled with air, it becomes bigger in size and it can be weighed. It proves that air occupies space.

Experiment: An empty glass tumbler is inverted inside the bowl. When the tumbler is tilted, bubbles are seen in water. Observation - The air was occupying space inside the tumbler, and on tilting air is displaced and bubbles come out because of that. Conclusion - Air occupies space.

(b) air has weight

Experiment : Take two balloons having same mass . Fill air in one balloon while leave another balloon with out air . Now take a balance and find the weight of the two balloons . You will see that air filled balloon will have higher weight than the other balloon without air , showing that air has mass.
